Information For Patients

Central Melbourne Endocrinology Waiting Room Cards

Central Melbourne Endocrinology is a private medical clinic.

How do I access your doctors’ services?

Your usual health provider may refer you to us for our services.

You require a valid referral to be eligible to claim Medicare rebates for our doctors’ consultations.

A valid referral can be obtained from you general practitioner (GP) or specialist doctor.

GP referrals can be valid for 12 months or indefinitely, while specialist referrals are only valid for 3 months.

How do I make an appointment?

If you are a new patient, we will contact you regarding your first appointment with one of our doctors when we have received a referral from your usual health provider.

If you are an existing patient, you can contact our receptionist to make an appointment.

How do I cancel an appointment?

Please call our receptionist to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

Ideally, you should do this at least 48 hours before your appointment so that that appointment time may be made available to other patients.

How will I be notified of my appointment?

If you are a new patient, you will be sent a detailed letter outlining the practice location, appointment time, and doctors’ fees.

If you are an existing patient, you will be sent a text message to your mobile phone.

Please confirm that you can attend, or call our receptionist to cancel or reschedule, at least 48 hours before your appointment.

What will I need for my appointment?

Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your appointment time to check in with our receptionist.

Please bring for your appointment:

1. Referral letter from your GP, specialist or other referring doctor
2. Reports of blood tests, scans or other relevant information
3. Medicare card, DVA card, Pension card

How do I pay for my consultation?

We require full payments on the day of your appointment.

Payment can be made in cash, cheque, eftpos or by credit card.

You may contact our receptionist to discuss out-of-pocket expenses ahead of your appointment.

How do I access your telehealth services?

Telehealth refers to a video consultation between a patient and specialist via video conferencing (i.e. visual and audio link).

Several of our doctors provide telehealth consultations.

Eligibility criteria apply, so see the Medicare website for further information.

Alternatively, our receptionist may be able to assist with your enquires.
